Cleaning Training

Once the applicant is hired, the training process begins at our main office with a half-day program introducing new employees to the rules and procedures practiced at McGarr Service. The slide and lecture material used in the orientation has been developed in full accordance with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organizations.

The new employee is then matched up with a training sponsor, and for the first two days, works alongside that sponsor. The sponsor explains and demonstrates the various cleaning sequences and answers any questions the new employee may have. After the first two days, the new employee is directed to his or her own area and receives follow-up training directly from the supervisor.

Each week, the manager checks each member of the staff, new and old, to make sure that proper procedures are being followed. If necessary, employees will be retrained. Periodically, training classes are held for all employees to give them additional training or merely to refresh them on procedures.

In dealing with chemicals or equipment that may be considered potentially hazardous, specialized training is always provided. Working with such chemicals or equipment is always restricted to the more experienced employees. Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used by McGarr Service Corp. are always supplied to our clients prior to start-up.
